Several extraordinary individuals
KMF Pastoral Team with Archbishop
Desmond Tutu
The power behind the Kay Mason Foundation in its early days was the inimitable Chris Fremantle, my best friend from school, who brought to the complex business of managing budgets, running accounts, and keeping track of charitable funds all his considerable gifts of diligent accuracy and flair.
With the help of our Trustees, we managed to set up a mechanism that could turn a moment’s altruism in the West into the education of a South African child.
We soon learned that paying a young person’s fees is only the first step. Kay Mason Foundation Scholars succeed because we care about each of them as individuals. I know every Scholar personally, and the KMF Pastoral Team regularly visits them in their homes. We also organise lots of workshops and get-togethers.

The fact that we’re helping 51 extraordinary teenagers to get the education they deserve is directly due to the generosity of friends and readers. On behalf of all the KMF Kids: Thank You!
